SINGLE POINT SETTLEMENT EXTENSOMETER.
Single Point Settlement Extensometer are used to measuring or monitoring the changes in distance between two points without the use of a movable probe.
Measurements are carried out by means of an aluminium settlement rod Ø 30mm introduced inside a corrugated sheath Ø 55mm and fixed to a galvanized steel square plate.
At the bottom of the aluminium settlement rod is fixed the steel plate which is laid and buried below the embankment or grouted inside a borehole; on top of the aluminium rod instead there is a top cap in stainless
steel to allow the reading of settlement of surface.
Displacement between the upper and the lower points give the measure of the settlement.
